DiningThe food at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge is delicious and plentiful, with a unique African twist. The three-course dinner is "a la carte", with a menu which changes daily, and includes unique specialities such as 'zebra & black cherry potjie' or 'crocodile kebabs with a lemon butter & apricot sauce'.
Meals can be served out on the large wooden decks under the shade of the Mahogany trees, in the intimate dining room, under the stars in the 'Boma' or in the privacy of your suite. For a real culinary experience, ask for a bush dinner or bush breakfast, sampling delicious food at a table for two surrounded by the African bush is sure to be a highlight of your stay.
There are six luxurious suites at Lions Sands Ivory Lodge, which are really like six separate lodges, positioned at least 20m apart along the banks of the river. Each suite consists of a large living area connected via a sun deck to a beautiful bedroom.
The bedrooms are light and airy, with glass walls making the most of the spectacular surroundings. The living area has a modern interior, and is beautifully furnished with a large, comfortable sofa facing the open fireplace. Each bathroom has an indoor shower and large, soaking bathtub, as well as an outdoor shower in the courtyard.
Between game viewing activities you can relax in your suite's private rim flow plunge pool, and take in the magnificent views over the Sabie River. The pools are lit so taking a swim in the warm summer evenings is a must.
